The most important Swiss customs regulations:
TOBACCO ITEMS (minimum age of purchaser: 17 years) 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 g tobacco (or a mixture of above not exceeding amounts given)
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS (minimum age of purchaser : 17 years) max. 15Vol% : 2 litres over 15 Vol%: 1 litre
OTHER ITEMS For one's own use or as gifts, purchases to the value of CHF 300.-- are duty free. Should the total value of items (including fresh meat and meat items) exceed CHF 300.-- then all purchases are subject to payment of duty. It is not possible for one person to collect the duty-free purchases of several persons and present them as a 'duty-free package': Duty would have to be paid on the whole lot. Apart from the above restrictions, tobacco and alcohol in the quantities given are duty-free. Duty-free clearance is guaranteed daily. Only for goods (travel goods excepted) personally brought to the customs upon crossing the frontier. |
