I.10: Schmugglertour Alp Trider Sattel

With the cable car you reach the Idalp at 2,317 m. From there, as described in Tour I.9, the path leads you to the Greitspitze (Stammgästekreuz) at 2,871 m. Then follow the hiking trail to the Salaaser Kopf (2,744 m), Zeblasjoch (2,539 m) to Samnaun. Samnaun was the worthwhile destination of the Paznaun smugglers for a long time until after the 2nd World War. Today, the price difference is already much smaller than it was 30 years ago. (Samnaun is a duty-free zone). With its double-decker gondola that can accommodate 180 people, the Samnaun cable car is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Alternative: Idalp – Idjoch – Gratwanderweg – Alp Trider Sattel – cable car – Samnaun Return: with the Samnaun cable car – Alp Trida – Flimsattelbahn – Flimjochbahn – Idalp. Please note the operating hours of the mountain railways for the return journey!
