Beschreibung

After a hearty breakfast at the Sesvenna Hut (2,262m), we start out of the valley, past the steep waterfall over a pleasant hiking trail to the beautifully situated Schliniger Alm and on to the mountain village of Schlinig (1,730m) which is worth a trip in summer and winter. From Slingia, take hiking trail no. 1 out of the valley and downhill towards Klostersäge along a wide forest path with a spectacular view over the upper Vinschgau Valley. Cross the road briefly and you will discover the imposing Marienberg Monastery. The route continues through the tranquil farming village of Burgusio along meadow path no. 4 to the main town of Mals with its famous Romanesque churches and thus the end of the route.

Geheimtipp

The highest Bendictine monastery in Europe - Marienberg Monastery - with its special crypt, library, monastery coffee and museum is definitely worth a visit! It is said that there are exactly 365 windows throughout the building. For those interested in culture, the St. Bendiktskriche in Mals is also a must.
