How moonlight skiing works
6.30 pm: First ascent
At 6.30 pm, the double-decker cable car departs from Samnaun-Ravaisch to the Alp Trider Sattel. The first ascent is suitable for winter sports enthusiasts and walkers. Once at the top, you can spend the evening at the Panorama Restaurant Sattel and enjoy the special atmosphere of the snow-covered mountain landscape.
An evening at the Panorama Restaurant Sattel
Before heading back down, there’s time for a cosy stay at the Panorama Restaurant. Combine moonlight skiing with dinner and enjoy the wintry atmosphere on the Alp Trider Sattel.
8.00 pm: First descent for skiers and snowboarders
At 8.00 pm, skiers and snowboarders have the opportunity to make their first descent to Samnaun-Laret. The run takes you down a freshly groomed blue run. To take part, you must be able to make safe and controlled turns on a blue run. From Samnaun-Laret, the SamnaunBus will take you back to the valley station of the mountain railways and to Samnaun village.
8.30 pm: Descent for pedestrians
Pedestrians can take the double-decker cable car back down to the valley at 8.30 pm. This means that accompanying adults, family members and guests without skis or snowboards can also take part in the moonlight evening.
8.45 pm: Second ascent
At 8.45 pm, the double-decker cable car makes a second ascent to the Alp Trider Sattel. This ascent is particularly suitable for skiers and snowboarders who wish to take part in the later moonlight descent. Important: There will be no stop at the Panorama Restaurant during the second ascent at 8.45 pm.
9.00 pm: Second moonlight run
Afterwards, all skiers and snowboarders will head down the freshly groomed slope to Samnaun-Laret. From Samnaun-Laret, the return journey on the SamnaunBus is guaranteed.
Even without your skis
Moonlight skiing is also a special winter experience for walkers.
The first uphill journey at 6.30 pm takes you up to the Alp Trider Sattel, where you can enjoy a cosy evening in the Panorama Restaurant. At 8.30 pm, the double-decker cable car takes you back down to the valley.
This means that even guests without winter sports equipment can experience the night-time mountain scenery of Samnaun.
Tickets and registration
Tickets are available directly from the box office at the valley station of the mountain railway. Day passes, multi-day passes, season tickets, etc. are not valid for moonlight skiing. The ticket price includes two trips up the mountain. No booking is required.
