Rock Legends in the Snow: Krokus Are Coming to Samnaun
Over Five Decades of Swiss Rock History
For more than 50 years, Krokus have stood for powerful, authentic hard rock. Founded in Solothurn in 1975, the band is one of Switzerland's most internationally successful rock acts. With songs such as "Long Stick Goes Boom", "Screaming in the Night" and "Bedside Radio", they have made Swiss rock history. More than 15 million records sold, gold and platinum awards, and worldwide tours demonstrate their international success.
Even after more than five decades, the musicians have lost none of their passion for performing. Singer Marc Storace, guitarist Fernando von Arb and bassist Chris von Rohr remain key figures in the band's line-up. "We love what we do, and our fans have been showing their appreciation for decades," Krokus explain, reflecting on their enduring passion for music. The band also promises an energetic performance of authentic, powerful rock in 2027.
Rock Music Against a Spectacular Alpine Backdrop
Krokus can look forward to an extraordinary concert setting in Samnaun. The International Spring Snow Festival stage is located on Alp Trida, surrounded by the peaks of the Silvretta Ski Arena. Here, winter sports enthusiasts can combine a day on the slopes with a live concert.
The Spring Snow Festival has a long-standing tradition in Samnaun. Since 1989, renowned Swiss and international music stars have performed on Alp Trida towards the end of the winter season. Previous artists include Status Quo, Die Toten Hosen, Gotthard, Peter Maffay and, most recently, Beatrice Egli. With Krokus, another Swiss rock band will take centre stage at the musical season finale in 2027.
April also offers excellent conditions for a varied winter sports holiday. The cross-border Silvretta Ski Arena Samnaun/Ischgl connects Switzerland and Austria and offers 239 kilometres of pistes. Thanks to its high-altitude location, reaching up to 2,872 metres above sea level, the winter season extends well into spring. The 2026/27 winter season runs from 26 November 2026 to 2 May 2027, offering a total of 158 days of skiing.
Enhanced Comfort in the Silvretta Ski Arena
The mountain railway infrastructure will also undergo further modernisation for the 2026/27 winter season. In Samnaun, the Twinliner double-decker cable car, which opened in 1995, will receive two new cabins, an upgraded control system and modernised platform and boarding areas. The system will also be technically prepared for future operation without cabin attendants.
On the Ischgl side, the new Höllkarbahn C2 will replace the existing chairlift. The modern eight-seater chairlift, equipped with weather protection bubbles and heated seats, will be able to transport up to 4,200 passengers per hour. Both installations are scheduled to enter service in time for the start of the season on 26 November 2026, further enhancing comfort throughout the shared ski area.
