1 August - Swiss National Day
Come and experience 1 August 2026 in Samnaun, with a village market, family activities, Swiss traditions and a festive evening programme. Against the backdrop of the festively decorated village, the National Day blends with the spirit of the summer holidays, an alpine atmosphere and duty-free shopping.
1 August in Samnaun at a glance
From 10.00 to 17.00, the village market on the car-free Dorfstrasse invites visitors to enjoy socialising, culinary delights, shows and exhibitions. Children can look forward to creative and sporting activities, as well as a petting zoo.
The day will be accompanied by the sounds of the alphorn, yodelling, cowbell ringers and live music at various locations. In the evening, the celebrations continue at the Pra Grond festival grounds with a lantern procession, music, a raffle, the national anthem, bonfires and a speech by Magdalena Martullo-Blocher.
