Beschreibung

The tour begins with a steady ascent from the church St. Jakobus in Samnaun-Compatsch (1,715 m). After a short ascent through a larch forest the view opens up over the Samnaun valley. At Unteralp the Alpstein stands at the edge of the path. This is one of the largest erratic boulders in Switzerland. At Alp Trida the path to Alp Bella branches off to the right. Alp Bella (2,380 m) is one of the highest cow alps in Switzerland and is reached after a further 100 metres in altitude. In July and August the alpine dairymen run a snack station with food and beverages. The return route now leads either directly and steeply along the alpine path back to Unteralp, or slightly flatter along the same path as the ascent.

Geheimtipp

The area surrounding Alp Trida has numerous attractive single trails and can also be reached by mountain railway from Samnaun-Ravaisch (for overnight guests this also includes the local bus).
