The new World Cup season kicks off on Sunday with the giant slalom in Sölden, featuring Samnaun's top athlete Thomas Tumler. After winning two silver medals at the last World Championships, Tumler is entering the new season with clear goals: it's an Olympic season. The Samnaun holiday region is delighted to continue supporting him as a sponsor.

With tailwind into the World Cup

Last winter was a milestone for Thomas Tumler: he celebrated the greatest successes of his career with silver in the team competition and silver in the giant slalom at the World Championships in Saalbach. Now a new season is beginning, with the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina as the highlight.

“If I can compete in the Olympics, then I want to achieve a top result,” says Tumler confidently. After intensive summer training, he is starting the winter season full of confidence. One particularly positive development is that he is increasingly managing to translate his strong form in training into his races. This is a sign of his growing stability and mental strength.

Samnaun stands behind its ambassador

Thomas Tumler is not only a top athlete, but also the official ambassador for the Samnaun holiday region. His attachment to his homeland is evident not only on the slopes, but also in his long-standing collaboration. Samnaun continues to support him as a reliable partner and sponsor.

Samnaun on Swiss television

Parallel to the start of the World Cup, the commercial for the Samnaun holiday region will be broadcast on October 26, 2025. It will be aired on SRF 1, SRF zwei, and SRF info - including during the Tagesschau and Schweiz aktuell news programs and during ski broadcasts.

We wish Thomas Tumler a successful start to the Olympic season and look forward to a winter full of sporting highlights!
