Three new 8-seater chairlifts for the Silvretta Arena: greater comfort, technology and sustainability by winter 2026/27
Comfort meets innovation
Construction work on the new Höllboden C1 and Sassgalun C3 chairlifts will begin in summer 2025. The Höllkarbahn C2 will be modernised a year later. All three lifts will be equipped with Doppelmayr's AURO (Autonomous Ropeway Operation) system. This is an automatic boarding and disembarking monitoring system that ensures additional safety and smooth operation. In addition, seat heating and weather protection hoods will take ride comfort to a new level.
New route for better ski slope connections
The Silvretta Arena is also setting new standards in terms of sustainability: more than 1,200 square metres of photovoltaic modules are being installed on the roofs of the three new facilities. With a total output of 274.5 kWp, they make an important contribution to the resort's self-sufficiency in renewable energy: a step towards environmentally friendly skiing. In addition, the existing infrastructure will continue to be used: the old Höllbodenbahn lift will be given a new lease of life as the ‘Familienglückbahn’ in the See ski area.
A win for guests and the region
The new chairlifts not only increase comfort and capacity (up to 4,200 people per hour), but also send a strong signal about the future viability of the Silvretta Arena. The ski resort thus remains one of the most modern winter sports destinations in the Alpine region and focuses on smart technology, high-quality equipment and sustainable planning.
