Beschreibung

The start of the hike is Samnaun village, easy to reach by public transport. Behind the Hotel Bündnerhof, the hike begins with a moderate ascent in the direction of Muttler, the highest mountain in the Samnaun Group. It dominates the Val Maisas, which is first crossed. After the slope has increased, the shepherd's hut is reached, an ideal place for a first rest.

All kinds of animals can be observed here, such as the eagle, which has built its nest in the steep rock face opposite. After the shepherd's hut, the path branches off to the right below the Rossboden in the direction of the Stammerjoch. The path winds in serpentines towards the Joch. Again and again, the trail offers magnificent views of the surrounding peaks. After the Stammerjoch, the highest point of the hike at 2676 m above sea level, the path winds slowly downhill into Val Chamins. Through lush meadows, the path leads into Val Musauna and finally back into Samnaun village, which is also the end point of the circular hike.

Good to know
Attention: In some cases, snowfields must be expected, up-to-date information on the trail situation is available at any time from Samnaun Tourism.
From the junction below Rossboden to the Stammerjoch and down into the Val Chamins, surefootedness is required.
