Piz Val Gronda E5 mountain station
Gampenbahn valley station
Thanks to the "Piz Val Gronda Bahn E5", Silvretta Seilbahn AG, a gigantic and extremely expansive freeride area awaits you in one go, where everyone will definitely get their money's worth. Especially the downhill variants into the Fimba valley are extremely varied and usually not too difficult. Another advantage is that at the close, you almost effortlessly end up at the Gampen cable railway that takes you conveniently back to the Piz Val Gronda cable railway.
The west side of the Piz Val Gronda is not extreme in terms of inclination and exposure and is also very clear. Nevertheless, caution is always advised, especially in poor visibility, wind and fresh snow. If you don't know your way around or aren't absolutely sure what you're doing, it's better to take a mountain guide. The route presented here is only to be seen as a suggestion.
Full avalanche transceiver equipment (at least avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel and backpack) as well as a first aid kit is mandatory.
From the mountain station of the Piz Val Gronda cable car, first slightly southwest into a gentle hollow up to an altitude of around 2,650 meters. Then continue in a northwesterly direction until you reach a terrain incision. Now you can already see the Fimbatal and the road to the Heidelberger Hütte below. Now more or less further and further down in a northwesterly direction until you reach the bottom of the valley. From here on the Ziehweg in a northerly direction to the Gampenbahn.
