As the 10th President of the Federal Republic of Germany (2010-2012), Christian Wulff is today committed to, among other things, the integration of people with a history of immigration and in the dialogue of believers of different religions. He is chairman of the board of trustees of the Deutschlandstiftung Integration foundation. In 2011, the Central Council of Jews in Germany awarded him the Leo Baeck Prize. In 2014, he was honored by the Turkish Community in Germany. In the same year, he was awarded the Tolerance Prize of the Tutzing Protestant Academy. In 2017, he received the Catholic Pax Bank Award for his work.
In terms of foreign policy, Christian Wulff is active as honorary president of the EMA (Euro-Mediterranean Arab Countries Association), as president of GASME (Global Alliance of Small and Midsize Enterprises) and as a member of the Transatlantic Council on Migration (TCM). As an honorary professor of Hefei/Anhui University (2017) and honorary doctor of Tongji/Shanghai University (2009) in China, Tsukuba-Tokyo University (2011) and Kwansei Gakuin-Kobe University (2017) in Japan, and Okan University in Istanbul (2019), he maintains close ties with Asia. As a former head of state, he has represented Germany at the international level, including the inauguration of the Saudi king, the funeral of the Thai king, international events in Qatar and Tunisia, and most recently the inauguration of Ukrainian President Selenskyj.
From 2003 to 2010, Christian Wulff was Minister President of the state of Lower Saxony, chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in Lower Saxony from 1994-2003, and party chairman there from 1994-2008. From 1998-2010, he was deputy federal chairman of Wolfgang Schäuble's CDU Germany, and then Angela Merkel's from 2000 to 2010. After his resignation from the office of Federal President and acquittal in the subsequent trial, he published his book "Ganz oben Ganz unten," in which he also describes the role of the media, politics and the judiciary.
Christian Wulff is president of the German Choir Association and patron of the German Multiple Sclerosis Society. He is a member of the advisory board of the Felix Nussbaum Foundation, chairman of the board of trustees of the Dieter Fuchs Foundation and the board of trustees of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the board of trustees of the DFL Foundation as well as the German-Japanese Forum and the German Club of Rome Society. Christian Wulff lives with his children in Burgwedel near Hanover. He works as a former Federal President in his Berlin office and as a lawyer in his Hamburg office.
