Journey to Samnaun

For countries and regions (source: Federal Office of Public Health) which have a significantly higher number of new infections compared to Switzerland, a 10-day travel quarantine applies when entering Switzerland. Please note any restrictions in your country of origin regarding your return home from Switzerland.

Safety concept winter season 2020/21

Your health and safety is close to our hearts. Here you will find the current protection concept of the Silvretta Skiarena Samnaun/Ischgl, which is continuously adapted to the current situation.

Tourist attractions and shops

The ski-area is expected to start operating on 11 December 2020. Skiing will only be possible on the Swiss side of the ski area until 23 December 2020. Ischgl is planning to start skiing on 24 December 2020. At the moment it is not yet clear what the Austrian entry restrictions mean for cross-border skiing in the Silvretta Arena.

The shops and accommodation are open. You can book your accommodation in our online shop or directly with your host.

Leisure and entertainment facilities such as museums, swimming pools, sports and fitness centres have to close. Exceptions are wellness facilities of hotels (for hotel guests) as well as outdoor facilities such as ice rinks, provided that the protective measures are complied with. The Alpenquell leisure pool is closed until 17 December.

Public and private events are limited to a maximum of 10 people. Exceptions are church services with a maximum of 50 people. In the calendar of events you will find current information on the guest programme.

Obligation to wear masks in indoor public areas

In Switzerland, persons over 12 years of age are required to wear masks in indoor public areas and outdoor areas of institutions and businesses and in busy pedestrian areas. In restaurants and bars, guests may only take off the mask when seated at a table. The obligation to wear a mask also applies to public transport and mountain railways. It remains important to maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 metres and to observe the hygiene rules in order to prevent new infections with the corona virus.

Recommendations for behaviour by the Federal Office of Public Health

The recommendations of the Federal Office of Public Health regarding keeping distance and hygiene still apply.

Clean & Safe - Your health is important to us

The establishments have a protection concept with concrete measures to protect guests and employees and to ensure that your stay is a pleasant one. This is communicated with the new Clean & Safe label of the Swiss tourism organisations.

We also participate in the Clean & Safe label with the protection concept (PDF) of the Guest Information.
